I hadn't taken on board ('scuse the pun) that, unlike the "regular" Catan game, this game is for 4 players max rather than 6 (thefreore 4 out of 5 stars).
If your opponents venture too far into your space, though, you might need to divert the Klingons to drive them away. The setup is a little tedious - the ships (roads) need to be connected with bases so that they are elevated, as though they are flying. I really like this game - it is the best of the variants. Star Trek: Catan from Mayfair Games combines the adventures of the legendary Starship Enterprise with those of the Settlers of Catan. Build, trade and settle where no one has gone before. Players collect and trade these resources in order to build Starships that connect regions in the galaxy, establish more Outposts and Starbases at new intersection points in order to increase resource acquisition, and acquire Development Cards that provide Victory Points or special abilities. Not for children under 3 yrs. Love the game pieces though - bought it for a friend and considering splurging to get one of my very own. The new resources are fun, though, especially when I accidentally start trying to trade wood in lieu of Dilithium. The different resource names can be a bit confusing, but it's not a problem.
